YOGA GIRL by Anais Benoudiz

This photo shoot was one of the most fun and challenging I have ever had. First of all, working with Rachel was a pleasure and she is very fun to be around. Even though I tortured her, she was very professional and tried not to kill me! hahaha

It was a challeging shoot for many reasons. First reason, I was freaking nervous! Yes, I was. We had so little time for this shoot because she needed to be at another place, and I was afraid we would not have time between hair, makeup, body painting, and shoot! I thought to myself: Oh dear god…this is the end of my career! and I havent even started! lol

Secondly, it was very hard to keep the painting very gold in her body when doing the asanas. We had to retouch between takes because the painting was not as dry as we thought. My makeup girl, Carmen Wade, did a wonderful job with the body painting. She rocks!

Third, there was a moment that I thought Rachel wanted to kill me because everything she kept saying in the shoot was: “you crazy woman, I have done crazy things but this…” or “I cant believe i’m doing this” or “this is crazy” hahaha I literally tortured her…but it was soooo worth it! She loved it and we had fun! :-)

Ever since I shot Rachel, every body is so curious about her and they keep asking me how she is…all I can say is that she is a very cool girl, very sweet and lots of fun! Her good energy is just contagious! I have not met a more down to earth person than her.

I will post more pics soon. It has been a hectic month for me with work and events, so bare with me. I promise I will post more soon!

This is one of my favorite yogis from Green Monkey Somi, Carlos Sanchez. It was a pleasure working with him for my exhibit of “Arts &Asanas”. He is a very cool, laid back person and his vibe gives me peace every time I speak or see him. To do this project I got the collaboration of amazing people that touched my life in a way or another. These people are unique and special to me, and I am so thankful to have them in my life. Each one had something to contribute and teach me along the process, and each one of them have now a special part of my heart. Thanks again to Thomas Taulbee, Jason Lawner, Carlos Sanchez, Sadie Davis, Rachel Novetsky, Ian Darrah and Elena Amato.

The turnout of the event was just incredible…exceeded my expectations and I met wonderful new people.

Ok…since Im a little shy in Public i will give my Óscar speech in writing: I would like to Thank all The people that helped me in this beautiful journey to make this exhibit possible. First of all my family who is always there for me no matter what. My mom, who is the most wonderful woman in this world and who always inspires me to become a better person. My brother Daniel, you are the love of my life and I am so lucky to have a brother like you…thanks for being there with me through every tear, laughter and stress! My sister, what can I say? You are the most fabulous girl after me…I think you have followed my steps very well lol lol I’m so happy to have you closer than ever and I’m so thankful for everything you have done for me, I love you with all my heart. Daniela Mantini: thanks for being with me through the good and bad times and for inspiring me to become better every day…I’m so grateful to have you as a friend and as a sister from another mister! Thanks for coming all the way from Venezuela to see my exhibit and for helping set this up. If I’m forgetting someone I’m sooo sorry but I’m sooo tired and cannot remember anything by now after such a huge night!
